Mason

Yesterday, Nana (sister) gave Ahren a sand castle. Ahren bugged and bugged Michael to come help him put it together. So, we all get together and start putting the sand castle together. It is basically a plastic castle that you put sand into the top. He loved the castle and finished all it in the same night. Anyways, Michael looks over around where I keep Tiggers (dog) water and food. Mason is drinking out of the dogs water bowl. Nothing I could do, but laugh. Michael did not think that was funny, but like I said there was nothing I couldn't do. Then later that night, Michael changes a wet diaper. Mason comes crawling around the corner w/the dirty diaper hanging from his mouth. I ask you..... which is more gross..... the diaper..... or the water....... At least he is getting all his germs. l love my mother, but she sterillized everything.... I did not get all the germs that I needed as a kid! Michael said to add it was a "closed" diaper, still gross.

The Boys

Today we were suppose to go to the Temple, but things did not work out. I wanted to go so bad and Joy was going to watch the kids. However, Mason was not feeling well and we decided to stay at home. Both the boys were alot of hard work, especially Mason, due to not feeling well. I grateful for both my boys. They have alot of energy and keeps me on my toes. Michael was able to get some things around the house done. Sundays always feels like the start of new week for me.... bring it on!

October

It has been an extremely busy month. Both the boys had b-days. The boys celebrate their b-days with Zachary and Breana. Mason turned one and Ahren turned five. Then Grandma and Grandpa came down to visti w/the family. Finally, we had Halloween! We had lots of fun. The boys have gotten so big! Mason is still only crawling, but can walk w/assistance. Ahren is doing great at school. He got his first report card! He is doing great acadeically; however, he has a hard time controlling his emotions. We are working on him getting upset over small things. Tigger also has had an eventfully weekend. When we had our cat, I only kept his rabies shot current, but w/Tigger I have been keeping all his shots current. He is constantly trapping animals on the back fense. Friday night he got sprayed by a skunk. It sucked washing him for two hours. I used all the wivestells of tomatoe juice, but had to send Michael to the store to get a special skunk shampoo. Michael stated that was the worse smell he had ever smelled. However, when i worked in detention, a girl came in after being pepper sprayed. That was the worst smell.

We had loads of fun at Melissa's and Jared's house for Halloween also Heidi's birthday. Michael took the kids treak or treating. It was loads of fun. Can't wait for next month. Mason, Ahren, and Zachary also had their yearly pictures taken. They looked so cute.

SOS........ Need Sleep

It has been rainning all day since late Friday. We went to Sister Clay's viewing and it started pouring down rain. I mean pouring down rain. We got wet! I was suppose to walk in a heart walk today, but w/both my kids not feeling at thier best we decided to stay at home. Michael was suppose to attend Sister Clay's funeral, and took turns sleeping. I think that I have a sinus infection due to the rain. However, the rain has cooled the temperature down so that the electric bill will not be high, nor the water bill. Anyways, the reason I need sleep, at 2:15 a.m. the tornado alarm went off. Michael and I both woke up, but Ahren and Mason stayed asleep. Of course, we look out the window for a tornado, (not very smart if there was an actual tornado), and check the news. Nothing. Since there wasn't a tornado, bad words start coming to mind due to the fact that I wanted to sleep. The alarm goes off for at least an hour and a half. Michael finally gets into the truck to find out if anything can be done. He stated that a police officer and other neighbors are trying to figure out what to do. Michael came back stating that they needed to let the battery run out or something. All I wanted to do was sleep. I feel bad about missing the heart walk... I hope that Dan, our computer guy, was able to come.

Mason

Today, I stayed home w/Mason due to him having a couch and diarrhea. the couch was okay, but the diarrhea was bad. I did not put any clothes on him due to fact that I would have to change clothes at least four times today. I was hoping that he would sleep, but he only slept one hour. Well, actually, two hours, one hour w/o me and the other w/me. I wanted him to sleep long so that i could sleep longer. It was great to have the one on one time w/him, BUT he would not allow me to get anything done around the house.

P.S. Mason has decided that he is friends w/the vacuum cleaner. He goes up to the vacuum cleaner and pushes it...talkes to it....looks at it...... he really likes the vacuum cleaner. When we are vacumming he likes to follow it around the house. I will try to record his relationship w/the vacuum cleaner.

Free time

Both Ahren and Mason went to bed early tonight. I don't think that Ahren feels good. He asked to go to bed at 6:45 p.m. I need to start my sharing time for Sunday, will try to start it tomorrow. I can't believe that both the boys have birthdays next month. Mason will be one and Ahren will be five. Ahren can't wait to turn five. Mason could care less. As long as Mason gets cake, that is all he cares about. When Ahren had his first birthday cake, he really did not like it. However, Mason is a different story! He will probably eat the entire cake. He gets that from his father.

Mom

Today, has been a year since mom passed away. It was hard day. Today was wonderful scracement meeting at church, but emotional for me. I think that I hid it pretty well. I still can remember her voice. I know that she is in Heaven w/my father, dancing along. Last year was an extremely hard year.... I sometime think that the reason that Mason was so late was that Heavenly Father gave mom a little bit of time to spend w/Mason before walking him over the veal. I try to remember the picture in Mason's room w/Christ......... "I never said it would be easy, I only said that it would be worth it!" I think that I got pregnant due to Heavenly Father knowing that I wuold loose my mom in one month and gain a child the next month. I had a hard time when my father died, but this time he gave me a blessing after heartache. My mom was hard headed and complicated. However, I knew that she loved me very much. Billy gave her a blessing before she came to the Hospise House in Fort Worth stating that she would make it hear, but that daddy waitted for a long time and wanted her home. I knew all along that she would never be at the birth of her second grandchild. The last week of her life she was medicated due to the pain, but she was able to talk only three words two days before her death. I told her I loved her and she told me that she loved me too. What comfort those three words were to me. I hope that today the Brown/Clay family, whom are going through the same circumstance, understand that their is comfort and peace behind the pain and tears.

Decisions, Decisions........

Sister Brown contacted Michael and I today about some property in Grandbury list at half the cost. We want some property for when we retire to live on. However, we don't know what to do! Of course, we prayed about it! This past week has been a bad week and we have not been the best Christ-like manner. I can't wait to go to church to pay our tithig and hopefully we will get some answers to our prayers.

P.S. Sister Brown goes to the Burleson Ward, but is also our realtor.

Questions and Answers

Like I said before, Ahren has been asking alot of questions about Christ. Like... Why did God make mouth? Why did God make noses? Those are easy answers "Because we were created in his own image." Then I proceed to tell him the functions of his mouth and nose. Then he ask questions like Why did God make cars, pools, baby toys, etc? I tell him that God gave man the talent/ability to make these things. Last night coming home from Melissa's house Ahren ask the following: Did God of Man make Pull-ups? Michael stated that man made pull-ups! Ahren can make us laugh sometimes.

Home

I have been for the past couple of weeks trying to get a lower mortgage rate on our home. I have finally gotten it done and we should be done soon. I left it up to Michael to get it done....... it would never get done. He is a wonderful husband, but likes to wait to the last minute to do any of his "honey do list."

Mason and Ahren are doing great. I have got to find my camera. Mason is crawling like crazy and Ahren is doing great at school. Ahren has been at school for a week.

Ahren has been asking a lot of questions about Christ and I enjoying telling him everything about Christ. It is funny when he ask why Christ gave us eyebrows!? I told him that they were for decorations.

Mason 9 month (really 10 months)

Diary

Today at church, Amber Connelly showed all her diaries that she kept over the years. I can't keep a diary to save my life. So, I have decided that i will use my blog as my diary. Keep up w/the day to day activities of my life and my family. Michael just told me that Mason is able to place his blocks through the holes in a toy. Another milestone. I can't wait until he starts walking. I need to start taking pictures more. However, we have to find the camera. Summer is over and school is starting. Ahren has done well and I hope that he cont. to do well.

P.S. I got the tickets to go see George W. Bush. I am going to have to eat in ALOT to pay for the tickets. Michael and I have gone out on dates, but never were we had to dress up. Every twelve years it is nice to dress up and go out w/your husband.

Decisions

As I have said before, Ahren starts Pre-K at Fort Worth Christian starting next week. Well, I get an e-mail last night stating that former President George W. Bush will speak at a Gala at the Omin Hotel for the school. I can't believe it! Of course, I can't afford the sponsorship, however; I could possibly affoard the individual tickets. Michael and I have decided if I can get the tickets we are going. We are never, ever, never, going to get another chance. I will eat mac and cheese for a long time if I have to. I called Billy today to ask him his opinion and he agrees. I may not get to take a picture w/the former President nor shake his had; HOWEVER, I will be in the same room w/him. We get to buy tickets before it opens up to the public. I hope that I can get tickets.

It has been along time!

Melissa has been on my case about not posting anything on my blog. I have not made time for it. A lot has happened. Ahren starts Pre-K in the fall at Fort Worth Christian. My baby is growing up. He is hard headed and stubborn, but I love him. The mother’s curse works. Ahren is my pay back. Keeps me humble. Mason is 10 months and finally crawling. He is so easy going and hardly any trouble. But I am glad that I have my two boys, no girls. It is nice to spoil my friends girls and send them back to their mothers. I had pictures taken of Mason and Heidi and will try to post them soon.

Picture

I took both boys to Wal-Mart today to buy some groceries. My poor baby fell asleep in the basket. He laid his little head on the "thingy that you put in shopping charts so that your baby doesn't sit in the chair w/o protection" and went to sleep. No camera. That sucks. I need to start making sure that the camera is charged and ready to use. OR, my husband gets me that new T-Mobile phone that takes pictures.

Ahren and Mason Playing Around

The kids playing in bluebonnets, aren't they cute!

P.S. Tigger also had fun!

The Brace

Yea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The brace is finally off. Michael took him to the doctor today and the doctors stated that he would only have to wear the brace when he sleeps. My poor little baby has been in a cast or his brace since he was 5 weeks old. Mason just turned six months on the 3rd of April and it is hard for me to remember him w/out a brace/cast. He may not know what to do w/all that freedom. At the monent, he is excited to play w/his feet. Hopefully, I will have pictures of him later.

P.S. For those with you that don't know, Mason had to wear a brace due to being born w/a slight club foot. Usually club foot is runs in the family, but nobody in our family has club foot. The doctors think that he ran out of room and turn his foot inward. It is correctable, but a long process. He will have to wear the brace up to the age of three. (only while he sleeps, yea!)

At the Zoo

Yesterday we went to the zoo w/Zachary and Joy. It was a lot of fun spending time with the boys. However, it was a lot of work. I am glas that the Lord has blessed me with two wonderful boys!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But two is the limit for me. Both my boys are hard headed and stronged willed, which will be great when they are teenagers, but it is hard on me. Ahren has the same personility that I have and we clash a lot. However, both boys are snuggly and love their mommy.

Hair on the run

Yesterday I left early from work to highlight my hair along with the free cut that my hair stylest provides on Tuesday. I call my husband to remind him that I would be getting home late and to go ahead and eat dinner. Michael tells me that he might have to work late. I ask him to call closer to 5:00 to figure out what we could do about the kids. (They are both at Nana's on Tuesday, so it was easier to pick them up.!!!!) My appointment is at 4:30 and Angela gets the foil in my hair and leaves to pick up her daughter from their home to take her to her piano lessons. Angela leaves at 5:00 and I read while she is gone. My darling husband calls at 5:20 stating that he is going to have to work late and that I need to go get the kids. Problems #1: I have foil in my hair!!!!!!!!!!!! Problem #2: Angela is not back from taking her daughter to her piano lessons. I call Angela and ask her if I could leave to pick up the boys. Problem #3: Anegla states that she will be back in about five minutues; however, if I leave with the foil it in my hair for too long that I risk a chance of my hair falling out. So, I decide to wait. (Hair on the top of my head is important to me.) Angela gets back and stated that I need to wait five more minutes. However, I decide to go ahead and wash my hair praying that my decison would not mess up my highlights. (it still looked good and did not mess the highlights. But if it had it would have been my husbands hide!) Here is the part of the story most of you will get a kick out of, I leave the shop w/a towel around my head to pick up the boys from Nana's. I told Angela that I would be back in about 30 minutes and she was kind enough to wait. I am going down I20 at 75 miles an hour w/a towel on the top of my head. What would I tell the police officer if I had gotten pulled over, the truth. My husband had to work late, so I had to go get my kids, and I am in the process of getting my hair done................. He/she would have thought that I was nuts, eventhough I already know that I lost it a long time ago. Needless to say, I got the kids and returned back to have Angela finish my hair. Michael came to get the kids while Angela was cutting my hair, yes!.P.S. My husband owe's me a head massage. You woman know what I am talking about. I love having someone else wash my hair and Angela had to hurry!!!!!!!!!!!

Friends Wedding

Today we worked on flowers for a friends wedding that takes place tomorrow. My thoughts were taken back to my own wedding almost 13 years ago. I can't image my life w/o my wonderful husband; however, at times he can be like a third child.:) Just kidding. I can't believe that I have been married for almost 13 years. We have two wonderful kids to show for it.

Ahren T-Ball

Ahren started T-ball today!!! Michael decided at the last minute that he would help to an assistant coach. He did not want to miss this experience with his son. Michael stated that he wanted to interact w/his son. I am grateful that he wanted to spend this time w/his son. He may miss some of Ahren's games due to Boy Scouts, but he being at his practice/games makes a big difference. The process is about to start all over w/Mason like swim lessons, little gym, and T-ball. I know that he will want to experience the same pleasures of fatherhood w/Mason.

My friend

My friend Melissa's grandfather stared a blog for her to write down his family history. How I wish my father kept a journal or wrote some of his stories down about the war or when he was younger. He died when I was young and I can't remember most of the stories. I also was looking in my mom's things for some things for her taxes and realized that I should have asked her the same questions. Don't take for granted that you are going to have all the time in the world to talk w/your parents.

It has been a long time

I have been busy for the past couple of days. Last weekend I went on a scrapbooking retreat and completed at least 6 pages. And this week I have been busy with work and the kids. Mason is getting bigger and only has to wear his brace for at least three more week!!!!!!!!!! Yea!!!!!!!!!!!

Ahren had little gym tonight and seems to still enjoy the class. He is getting extremely big. I was looking at him and Zachary (his little best friend) at their sitters house and they are not little anymore. Mason seems to be getting bigger than Ahren was at this age. He is already six and a half pounds and only is five months old. Once the brace is off I am hoping that he would start rolling over more.

Little Gym

Today is a day that I am glad that I am done having children. I LOVE my children, but trying to take them to Little Gym is a chore. Mason has learned to poop at the worst times. I am also trying to get ready to go out of town for a scrapbooking retreat along with preparing sharing time. I have been called as second counselor in primary and not use to preparing a lesson.

Mason has started smiling and trying to pull up. He is wearing six to nine months and is only five months old. How in the world do I have big children since nobody in my family had big children.

Wednesday, March 4, 2009

Today was my 32nd b-day and we all went to Razzo's. I can't believe that I am another year older. Sorry, no pictures. Yea! My son told me last night when we were getting ready for bed that he bought a card and that it was Mickey Mouse. Michael stated that he really liked the card. I think that he probably wanted to for himself.

An Eventful Year

I have just started my blog and hopefully I will have time in my day to keep it up. This past year has been one of the most rewarding and tragic years of my life! I have lost a parent one month and celebrated the birth of my second child in the next month. I understand fully the purpose of our eternal plan and I am gradeful that I can be with my family for all eternity. I am grateful for the support that my friend and adopted families have shown over the past year. They have provided my and my family a true act of service. I sometimes think about the many blessing that I have received over the past year and thank my Heavenly Father for each one of them.
